So, it was time to make a dent in my large collection of decorative washi tape so for my Step By Step article in Scrapbooking Memories magazine Vol13 No10 I came up with a few ways to use it!
Instead of patterned paper, I created interest on my background by weaving strips of washi tape.
I just love how this layout turned out - the colours, the details but especially my cheeky subject matter!
There were a few other ideas for washi tape in the article too!

I'm recording so many stories for scrapbooking layouts that often I don't have room on a layout to fit enough journaling in! For my Step By Step article in Scrapbooking Memories magazine Vol13 No8 I created an interactive layout with a fold-out flap to reveal more journaling.
The circle patterned paper lifts up to reveal my journaling and another photo and fun embellishments on the back.
And in turn, the journaling flap lifts up to reveal another photo.

This layout was for for my Step By Step article in Scrapbooking Memories Vol13 No6. I have so many photos of Amelia feeding kangaroos at the zoo - they're not always the easiest to scrap though!
By cropping the photos into circles, I've eliminated some the the 'unneccessary' background in the photos and made her the focus of the photos.
I love this style of layout - you can use scraps of patterned paper (I don't think I cut into a whole sheet for this one!) and also rummage through your die cuts and assorted embellishments and have fun adding them!

This is the latest issue of Scrapbooking Memories magazine to hit the stands and in it is my second Step By Step article as part of the 2011 Creative Team!
It's all about creating crepe paper ruffles with your sewing machine and it's one of my favourite layouts ever. Here's a sneak peek at the article:

I've added a touch of crystal glitter to the edges of the ruffle and it's the sweetest effect. LOVE IT! Let me know if you have any questions . . .

Scrapbooking Memories magazine Vol 13 No 2 is out now and it's got my very first Step By Step article in it! Woo hoo! I raced out the day it was on sale and grabbed a copy as I simply couldn't wait to see my technique in print!
It was months ago that I actually completed the assignment so I've been waiting for some time!
So I present to you . . . scrapbooking step by step with Gail Lindner:
My first technique is creating a cloud background with Glimmermist and a simple template.
The Creative Team also have a bit of a profile page later in the mag with a Bo Bunny product challenge.
I have to admit, working with that range of papers was a challenge for me who's used to bright and girly products! I had to use photos from my parents as I had nothing that coordinated!
Hmm. Just thought that I should have got my husband to take a photo of me holding the magazine. Maybe tonight.

The Scrapbooking Memories Masters edition is out now and it's always my favourite magazine of the year!
I feel very honoured that I received two honourable mentions this year! Yay! If you check out the magazine you'll find my single page layout and my off the page creation which was an activity book of sorts for Amelia.
Funny thing is, my favourite project didn't make the mag - it was my double page layout. So I get to share it here on my blog!
You know, I don't think I actually used a full sheet of patterned paper on this layout! I pulled together all sorts of scraps to make the patchwork-type effect. And each block was stitched on too!

I have to admit that after years of NOT buying that mag, I have been the last year or so because the content has improved a lot in my opinion. Part of it was because of the great techniques from the current Creative Team members: Jodie Butler, Tammy Milborn, Leeann Pearce and Sue-Ann Tilby.
Well, stay tuned because next year you will be getting LOTS more inspiration not only from myself but from these very talented ladies:
Coincidently, I met Kim at Blossie's only a couple of weeks ago and have been stalking her blog ever since! He he!
