After All These Years

{Update}

Let me just blow away the tumbleweeds . . . I'm going to post some random thoughts today:

• It seems we've run out of download for the month so my internet is sooo slow and painful.

• This time next week I will no longer be in my 20s.

• Been working hard on adding a few new items to my Etsy shop here.

  

• Started moving my scraproom *stuff* out to my new room. Everything is in chaos so I'm finding it hard to get anything creative done! Can't wait to share some scrappy goodness on my blog again!

• Wish it would stop raining so we can get back to jumping on the trampoline!

• Looking forward to my classes at Blossie's on Saturday.

{New Colours}

{More Chenille}

Ok, I promise this will be the last post for a while on the topic of chenille. I just want to share a couple of photos showing what else I use it for. Enter the cute cowgirl:

Are those the cutest jammie pants you've ever seen? My friend Yvette made them for Amelia for her birthday and she loves them! They are sooo comfy and I know this because I have a pair too!

We don't waste a bit of this precious fabric. Once the big items are made, the leftover bits get cut up into smaller things such as the hearts that Yvette used to embellish the pants. So sweet!

{Introducing Chenille Flowers}

I've just listed these beauties in my Etsy shop: Chenille Flowers.

I have a little collection of chenille. It has been put to very good use and this is just one of its many uses. Each flower measures 8-9cm.

These particular flowers have been hand dyed. I do hope to have many other colours soon but of course I needed to create pink first!

I can't wait to use them on a project - the wheels are spinning as to what I can do with them! I think these pink beauties are destined for a scrapbooking page but I'll also be using some on cards (especially to my chenille-loving friends) and pinned to a handbag or two.

{Nearly There}

Thought I'd pop in and share a photo of my soon-to-be-scraproom . . . now painted!

You can see that I've used the same colour scheme as the playroom down the opposite end (see here) being white, with one beautiful and fresh aqua wall. My husband said I could paint the back door whatever colour I liked so I chose this beautiful watermelon colour! Hehe! I don't think he'll give me free rein when it comes to colour choices again!

Now I have to get window coverings up, a new power point or two and I'm ready to start moving! Can't wait.

{Busy & Glimmer-Misting}

I wish I had a scrapbooking layout to share today but I have been busy watching a certain little someone do a lot of this:

Jumping on her new trampoline! Woohoo! She loves it and I love it because it completely wears her out! I just have to show you one more photo. When I get my camera out now, she says "cheese" but with this funny, screwed up face! Talk about making me laugh!

The time I have had to scrap has been finishing preparation for my upcoming Glimmer Mist for Scrapbookers class at Blossie's. It's going to be fun! The April class is booked out but I will probably repeat it at some stage so keep your eye out if you want to learn MORE cool ideas for using Glimmer Mist on your layouts.

Here's a sneak peek at one of the class layouts. It's hard to see in the photo but I've created a 'cloud' background with Glimmer Mist.

{Introducing Felt Cloud Embellishments}

Here's another set of embellishments that I've just finished up and loaded into my Etsy shop. Oh, how I love clouds but just cutting one out of white cardstock doesn't give enough dimension and . . . how terrible is this . . . I couldn't be bothered painting coat after coat of white paint on chipboard clouds to get a *nice* white finish. So here's the answer:

 
I was fussy in getting just the right shaped cloud - the perfect balance of cute and real-looking. I've added a hand-stitched border to each cloud and these tiny stitches add extra dimension and finish them off perfectly.

 
And cute clouds need cute packaging so I've popped them in pillow boxes with a stamped tag and tied up with yellow string. Nice!

{Introducing Mini Banners}

I've loaded another handmade embellishment into my Etsy shop: Mini Banner (Boy). I'll be working hard to bring you a few options for boy layouts and cards as there doesn't seem to be a huge amount out there apart from robots and dinosaurs :)

Banners are a great addition to almost any layout, card or project. I've taken a set of patterned papers that work together (in boyish colours) to make this gorgeous mini banner measuring just 3cm high.

Let me tell you, they are stuck very securely onto the twine but you can easily trim to the length you need . . .

I love this. 

Ha ha! I had to search for some boy photos to scrapbook! But just to show you how good it looks on a layout:

I simply pulled a couple of sheets of patterned paper that worked with the colours in the banner and away I went.

You can see that I embellished the banner further by adding a button in between each 'flag'. 

I have to admit. It's not very often I scrapbook without pink.  My fingers were just itching to put a pretty butterfly or flower on the page but I didn't!
