*New* My Little Shoebox & Photo of the Week

Oh lordy yes, I do love the new ranges to be released from My Little Shoebox here. I honestly never thought I'd be into such *cutesy* stuff, very different from my older style. But now (thank you Amelia) I can't get enough of that cutesy stuff!

Here are a couple of my favourites.

 

I do love me some clouds and houses.

 

And just look at those big images there waiting to be cut out! Smart company . . . catering to the trend of fussy cutting.

I haven't even used my last lot yet - although I do have a layout to share next week using some My Little Shoebox.

 

And inspired again by Ali Edwards to capture the small, everyday things, this is the first of many photos (I hope) that will be appearing on a future scrapbook page called "Evidence of You".

 

Yes, that's one of my Crocs that my shoe obsessed daughter has taken out of my cupboard and placed in the bathtub (while I was getting ready in there). Cracks me up!

A Layout Share

I know! It's been a while since I've shared a layout here . . .

 

Hehehe! Check out that bald spot. I had to do a page for her album with that mullet photo.

Nothing really special on this layout. I simply wanted to use that pretty paper and my new "Apron Lace" border punch.

Circle Journaling Spots

For July I have created a set of Blossie's Journaling Helpers that is just so versatile (in my humble opinion). They are basic circle journaling spots, available in black and white and colour and are designed (for ease of use) to match these punches.

 

Here's a look at the journaling helpers:

 

There are three sizes - 2 inch, 2.5 inch and 3 inch and you can punch them out using the respective sized Marvy circle punch. And as usual they are available to purchase both in store (already printed) or from the Blossie's blog as a PDF file so you can print them at home, as many times as you like.

How about some ideas for using journaling spots? Well, I've been on the galleries again and have linked some cool layout ideas below. Enjoy!

• I love all the layers in this layout. And I love the journaling spot peeking out from under the photo. Layout 1

• Lots of journaling spots on this layout! I love the different sizes and handwritten journaling on the Kraft cardstock. Layout 2 

• For a layout with no photos? Fill the page with journaling spots and tidbits. I Love this idea! Layout 3   

• This is an interesting idea - tucking your journaling spots amongst the swirls of the felt trim. Layout 4

• And how gorgeous is this idea? Using your journaling spots to create a scalloped border. Those little flowers just make it don't they? Layout 5

Dare To Dream

So I've been haunting the Two Peas online gallery, looking at scraprooms. I like to dream that one day I can build my own, from scratch, with money no object!

Upon looking at all these scraprooms this evening, a couple of  things have become apparent to me:

• I would love to have kitchen cabinets lining one wall

• I would like an 'island' style desk built from bookcases and a benchtop.

I'm thinking the desk might become a reality one day. Here are a couple of small shelves from IKEA that might work.

 

But the kitchen cabinets? I'm dreaming. It would cost sooo much to fit out a couple of walls with cabinets like this!

 

So I'll keep on dreaming. I never tire of thinking of ways to reorganise my scraproom. And just cause I love it, here's a pic of another piece of furniture that I covet from IKEA. I can see my stamps and punches in this.

 

Organising Jewellery

You may find this hard to believe but I try to be as organised around the home as I am with my scrapbooking. So I thought I'd share some of my home organisation tips as well, starting with my jewellery today!

 

This is a magnetic message board from IKEA and it used to be in my scrapbook room gathering bills and other paperwork that I was too lazy to file away. So I re-purposed it!

It now hangs behind my bedroom door (held up by trusty 3M hooks - I swear my house is held together by these!) I love utilising space behind doors.

  

My necklaces are hung over magnets from Kikki-K and my earrings are in little magnetic tins from Bargain City.

By the way, my shopping partner in crime (Donna) and I like to regularly check out the jewellery specials at Diva. Most of my jewellery you see here was CHEAP!

Catch Up Post

Here's the lowdown:

• We've had a month of colds, conjunctivitis, coughs and ear infections. And with a baby girl who likes going outside ALL THE TIME it's been hard keeping her amused, happy and calm INSIDE while she's been sick and having bad weather. We even had a tea party the other day!

 

• Been busy, busy preparing LOTS of class samples and journaling helpers for Blossie's! It's nearly newsletter time again! Here's a little sneak peek of one of my July classes. OK, here's two little sneak peeks.

 

 

• Have recently acquired a couple of new toys . . . can't wait to play! (Sigh) I need to do more scrapping and less internet surfing I think!

 

 

• BUT the upside of me doing so much internet surfing is that I have a couple of cool links for you!

First is a great post by one of my favourite scrappers, Jana Eubank.She's outlined her scrapbooking process step by step here and I found it really interesting! I might do a post just like it myself one day!

Mmmm. Pretty tape. Only a scrapbooker would understand my need for pretty tape instead of nasty, boring, clear tape.
