While I take a break from regular scrapbook posting today (since it's my birthday and I'm probably indulging in cake right now), I've got a couple of photos to share.

She's not spoilt at all! Just because Grandma spends ages dragging her around the backyard on this old plastic wagon . . .

 

Did you notice what's written on her shirt?

 

That's for Grandma's benefit of course. I couldn't resist. Funnily enough, they didn't have one that said   'I {heart} Silverchair'.

Upcoming Classes

I have a couple of sneak peeks to show you for my upcoming classes.

The first is a repeat of my April class {Simplicity 101}. I just love the concept of this class and it is so totally out of the square for me! Three layouts. Super simple design concepts.

 

Next up is {Sketch By Sketch} for May. To mix it up a bit, this month we'll be creating two single page layouts, each with just one enlargement on it.

 

If you are coming to my sketch class, one of the layouts has a circular design on it so feel free to bring along to class any circular patterned paper or cardstock sheets that you might like to use. If not, that is OK too! (Hint hint for those friends of mine that have the Cricut!)

Her First Year

I mentioned recently that I was finishing up Amelia's mini album that I created before she was born, to put a few photos and journaling each month of her first year. I've finally taken photos of the finished project to share here. (Only a few pages of it).

 

 

 

 

 

So you can see that I kept it nice and simple. As the photo pages are transparencies, I used the same sized photos and same embellishments on both sides.

I created the album in only aqua, cream and brown and never did I think that I'd actually get to add in PINK!

This project makes me happy. I might even create another album for her second year.

A {Princess} Layout!

My 'new stuff' drawer comes in handy often. You see, I often create a whole layout just so I can use my latest purchase. Here's an example:

 

My inspiration? Those sweet rub ons (including the pumpkin style coach). Of course it helps to have photos of your precious girl wearing a tiara.

 

Making their way into my stash recently were a few die cuts from the new My Mind's Eye Penny Lane range. I just love the shape of the title blocks. You'll notice I traced one onto patterned paper to use as my title block in the layout.

 

Here's a tip...when you have these cute shapes, be sure to trace one onto some chipboard to keep as a template.

 

And if you've got good scrappin' friends, be sure to trace one for them too!

New Stuff!

It has been a long time since I posted something of substance here! I've been working hard to get the Blossie's Online Classes up and running and also working on designing Blossie's Journaling Helpers!

And oh my god! There has been so much new stuff in at Blossie's! I've really got to start using some of this stuff instead of just re-organising it and, embarrassing but true, just taking it out and looking at it!

Here are some of today's goodies for example.

 

And I thought myself quite reserved.

I do have an organising tip to share. I recommend that all scrappers have a designated spot in their scrap space to put all new stuff. Isn't it inspiring to use something new? I'm more likely to use it if I use it straight away (if you know what I mean).

After a little while, I "merge" these goodies into my general scrap stash. If it makes it. Here's my 'new stuff'' drawer that is right beside me as I scrap.

 

I remember when I used to squirrel away my good stuff, never wanting to use it in case I needed it for a future project. Now I use, use, use. The sooner the better!

I'll be back soon with a layout share. Yes, an actual layout.

I've been busy working behind the scenes for Blossie's on a couple of things. I haven't done too much actual scrapping (as always). I've done plenty of buying though!
